Sails Abroad To Escape Talk of Taylor Case

NEW YORK

Sailing quietly her departure known only to a few intimate friends, Miss Mabel Normand, film star, was one of the cabin passengers on the AQUITANIA, which left on Tuesday, for Cherbourg and Southampton.  With Miss Normand was a friend, Miss Juliet Courtial.

Miss Normand did not reach the ship until just a few minutes before the sailing hour and parried all questions about the shooting of William Desmond Taylor, the movie director.

“Please don’t discuss that,” she said.  “I’ve been running away from it for months.  That is one of the reasons I am going away to get a rest.”
