Looking for Mabel Normand

Madcap Mabel Normand

Because The Kinema Comic was published in England the language is very 1921 British dialect some of the jokes are a little hard for me to understand, I just read the pictures.  Over time I hope to post a lot of these comics at Looking for Mabel; they have been setting in a box waiting for me to share.  Please feel free to download any or all of them; I think they are a real treasure of what was thought funny 90 years ago.

Back in 2004, Fantagraphic Books published 2 issues that I compiled with covers done by Kim Deitch; Mabel Normand and her Funny Friends and Fatty (Roscoe) Arbuckle and his Funny Friends.  A third comic book featuring Ford Sterling was also compiled by me but as the sales of the first two were not wonderful, it was never printed.

For 6 years, I have just let the comics set on the shelf but they are really funny and I like to share a laugh with my “funny friends” so . . . if you want a copy of the Mabel or Roscoe comics, let me know – I’ll sell one for $5 plus postage or eventually I will upload the stories found in them.
