31 Whitney Bolton wrote in his column February 2, 1950 that Mabel Normand told Charlie Chaplin to use an extraordinary blunt turn of phrase, but in Charlie’s case it didn’t work.  Maybe he wasn’t as pretty as Mabel! 16. The Squaw's Love, when Mabel Normand was working with D. W. Griffith,  they made an “Indian Poem of Love in Pictures” (Biograph 1911)… she began as a ‘dramatic actress’….
