As some of you have read the story about the auctioning of the Collector's Book Store in the LA Times, there is something about it in Mabel's Log, if you haven't read the story (even if you have, I added pictures)

A new Mary Miles Minter picture in the Photo Gallery in her mmm album, it is number 37. This group of pictures is growing very large when I started it I thought I had a good collection but WOW, she does take a nice photo and she sure had a lot of them taken!
Harry Carey had nice things to say about Mabel in a 1935 article, it is worth a read, it can be found in Reprints
I often describe Mabel as actress, director, producer, a real filmmaker, as we have the evidence of her skill as an actress on film, and the Mickey production has a lot of documentation but her direction mostly comes from antidotal reference after the fact, so when I find something about her direction during her lifetime is important. In 1913, a newspaper states that she is in fact directing her own films but also others so this is a really nice thing to find. The article is in Reprints.
In the 2008 picture album is a lovely portrait of the Valentinos, the images are at a fairly high resolution so may take a bit of time to load but I think they are worth the wait. These are works of art, not just an image, where I have found the name of the artist it has been noted. These are found in the Photo Gallery

A rather extensive piece on Hugh Fay is on the Navigation Bar. I also added a lot of reference notes; I have copies of a ton of articles about the whole Fay family. If anyone wants/needs copies of the stuff, I found, you can contact me. I didn’t post scans of everything, as it is the piece may take more then one visit to read it all. There is a link to the You Tube dance of Mabel and Hugh thanks to Bruce Long and in chapter 4 is an insightful email from the silent film historian, William Drew.
A new glass slide used to promote Mickey was donated to us by Matt Vogel, (thanks Matt). It can be found in the Photo Gallery in the glass slides album. As you look around, notice the slide of Mickey with the song lyrics? That was also sent a while ago by Matt.
A member of the Mabel Yahoo Group sent a copy of Mabel’s passport picture. Boy! she didn’t take a good photo; I had a copy of her passport application so both are in Mabel’s Log
An article in Reprints relates the final Good-Bye that was published in Photoplay 1930 by Mabel
Anna May Wong documentary aired on TCM June 5 along with a number of her film during a month of Asian related movies, a must see as the documentary is a quintessential exploration of a breathtaking actress by filmmaker Elaine Mae Woo.
