Looking for Mabel Normand

So the world is “Looking-for-Mabel”, recently, just about 10 days ago, the people at freeweb, the host of this site, have allowed the visitors to the site to let me know where they are coming from. No, I don’t have access to names or email addresses or anything personal but I am able to find out what the most popular pages are at the site and what country the visits are from, on a wonderful Google style map. 

The information from all of the visits are not available, I don’t understand what the criteria is but it might be something to do with ‘firewalls’ but anyway, even with the spotty data, I have found a couple of rather interesting things, well interesting to me anyway…

Visitors come to the LFM site using the search engines, Google, Yahoo, etc and links from places like Wikipedia.  There have been more hits from people looking for images of Gloria Swanson (I only have one) then people looking for Mabel Normand! Visitors come to LFM from all over the world: really all over the world. In the last 10 days, people have found their way from:

• Argentina, Munro
• Austria, Vienna
• Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunel Darussalam (no I didn’t know where this was either)
• Canada, Toronto-Montreal-Halifax
• France, Bordeaux-Tours
• French Polynesia
• Germany, Dresden-Karlsruhe
• Ghana
• India, Delhi
• Italy, Rome
• Mexico, Mexico City
• New Zealand, Wellington
• Pakistan, Lahore
• Russian Federation, Omsk
• Spain, Subadeli-Barcelona
• UK, (all over the country) Bath-Oxford-etc

But most visits come from the US, this is just a snapshot but we truly are members of a World Wide Web.

The Mary Garden article is back in Off Topic and in Mabel's Log is the review of the screening of the Arbuckle - Life of the Party, held on Sunday (with a lot of real cool pictures from my collection)

 On the Nav Bar is the Mary Garden page, it seems to have  been setting in Off Topic section for awhile without anyone noticing it so please taken another look. 

 Also I found an old autograph book with the signature of a few of the Keystone Kops so I added some pages to Off Topic.
