Looking for Mabel Normand

January 31

The Movie, The Illustrated History of the Cinema Number 107 (1982) is devoted almost entirely to Mack Sennett and the players at Keystone, and more importantly MABEL. I have scanned the various articles and you can download them and print them out to make them easier to read as I have not retyped them.  They are in REPRINTS. If you need better resolution of a particular article let me knew and I will email you a better copy.  (I scratched the glass on my scanner with a staple! damn) And yes, there are a number of errors in the articles but frankly, we know a lot more today then what was known 25 years ago when these articles were written. Mabel Won and Lost was reprinted in 1985 and I posted it and it can be found in the “reprint archive”.

Just a little house keeping needed to be done, the information regarding the fashions by Richard Hickson for Mabel in Dodging A Million - the material on Mabel's birth date and the article about Mabel swimming at Venice Beach are now all in the section called "Wonderful Things"

The Mabel Log has an notice of the screening of The Floor Below(1918 Goldwyn).

Wow...look what I found!  A couple of pictures of Mabel in the crepe de chine lace lingerie by Richard Hickson; the photos are now in Reprints with the other designs.

An Article was sent to me from my friend, Frederica; it deals with the costumes Mabel wears in Dodging A Million 1918 and is in the Reprint Section along with some information regarding the designer and a few photos I have of her in the film
